National Cemetery of the Pacific Improvements

Huitt-Zollars provided structural engineering, participated in site planning, and provided project management assistance for one of the most popular locations in Hawaii. Located on a significant historical and geological landmark (volcanic crater) the 116-acre National Cemetery of the Pacific is a dominant landmark in downtown Honolulu. The project expansion and improvements will increase interment capacity by 6,000 to 9,000 columbaria niches, and accommodate projected burial capacity for at least 15 years. The project removes the existing Public Information Center and Administrative Facility, provides infrastructure improvements to the cemetery, and constructs a new Public Information Center and Administration Building, along with additional columbaria and a memorial wall.
