Cottonwood Creek

Streambank erosion along a section of Cottonwood Creek in Allen was threatening the integrity of a popular city trail, a large wastewater line, and the home of a local resident. Huitt-Zollars developed a solution consisting of a cast-in-place reinforced concrete retaining wall to stop the erosion and provide permanent protection to the city’s infrastructure. Acting fast to prevent a catastrophic bank slope failure from occurring Huitt-Zollars worked closely with City staff to develop final bid documents only 67 days after receiving the Notice to Proceed.
