Huitt-Zollars, as Engineer of Record, was responsible for the civil design and MEP design support of the new bus maintenance and operations facility. The team was also involved in programming and preliminary engineering of the new facility. It was the first to be built by Metro in over 20 years and is located in downtown Los Angeles on an 8.25-acre site. It was Metro's intent to, at a minimum, attain a "Silver" project status as defined in the LEED Rating System by the U.S. Green Building Council. The design utilized state of the art, creative, and sustainable solutions.
