Huitt-Zollars Announces David Thompson, P.E. as Vice President in Dallas Office

Huitt-Zollars is pleased to announce David J. Thompson, P.E. has been promoted to a Vice President. As an officer of the Company, he is responsible for overseeing the Dallas bridge group as well as leading its business development initiatives. Since joining the firm in March 2012, David has demonstrated a high level of integrity, responsibility, and responsiveness when working with our Clients and staff. He has successfully established a client base with TxDOT, NTTA, and the City of Plano. Over this past year, each of these agencies has either renewed or selected Huitt-Zollars to provide engineering services for a variety of new, significant transportation projects with David serving as Project Manager.

David’s notable projects include Margaret McDermott (IH 30) Pedestrian Bridges over the Trinity River, Santiago Calatrava/City of Dallas; IH 345 Bridge Rehabilitation, TxDOT Dallas District; IH 35 at US 183 Direct Connectors, TxDOT Austin District; Retaining Wall Stabilizations, NTTA; and SH 63 at Sabine River Bridge Replacement, TxDOT Beaumont District. David also served on an internal task force responsible for implementing the firm’s transition from Deltek Vision to Vantagepoint.  

David earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Mathematics from Southern Methodist University and his Master of Science (Structures) from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He is a licensed engineer in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. David has also been associated with the Texas Society of Professional Engineers and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
