
Greg Vowels, PE is a Vice President and Principal in Huitt-Zollars’ Dallas office with over 30 years of experience in civil engineering, specializing in roadway design, construction supervision, and transportation program management. His career began with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and has since spanned a wide range of complex infrastructure projects across Texas, focusing on schematic design and PS&E development.
Greg has led the planning and preliminary design of more than 450 miles of roadway and has managed PS&E development for over 150 miles of Texas roads. His portfolio includes major projects such as the IH 820/SH 121/US 183 Interchange, FM 455 corridor upgrades, the US 67 Dublin Loop, and the IH 35E direct connectors in Denton County. He has also been involved in high-profile design-build efforts as Project Manager of the SH 121/Southwest Parkway (Chisholm Trail Parkway) and as Principal-in-Charge of the Grand Parkway (SH 99) in the Houston region.
Greg’s deep understanding of construction techniques, gained through his early career in inspection and extensive collaboration with contractors, informs his ability to deliver safe, cost-effective, and constructible designs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. He is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
