Kenneth Hughes, PE, is a Vice President and Principal with over four decades of experience in civil and transportation engineering. Based in our Dallas office, Ken is a recognized leader in the planning, design, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, including light rail systems, commuter rail, major roadway improvements, and site development across Texas and beyond.

Ken’s expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, including rail and transit engineering (light rail, regional rail, streetcar, bus and maintenance facilities), paving and drainage, utility coordination, and site civil design. He has served as Project Manager on high-profile projects such as the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Light Rail system, Houston METRO Light Rail, the Trinity Railway Express, TEXRail and the Capital Metro TIGER V Program in Austin. His leadership has been instrumental in delivering multimodal transportation solutions that enhance mobility, safety, and sustainability.

In addition to his technical acumen, Ken brings a collaborative and client-focused approach to every project. He is known for his ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, navigate complex regulatory environments, and maintain strong relationships with public agencies and stakeholders.

Ken holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Arizona and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) .
