
Marcy Newman, RID, LEED AP, is a Vice President and Principal in Huitt-Zollars’ Downtown Houston office with over 27 years of experience in interior design. Her portfolio spans a wide range of sectors including higher education, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and civic spaces, with a focus on integrating high-performance design strategies and sustainable materials into fiscally responsible solutions.
Marcy has led interior design projects for clients such as Rice University, Texas A&M University, Lone Star College, and the University of Houston. Her commercial work includes high-profile commissions like the Huitt-Zollars Downtown Houston office, Energy Tower developments, and the Regent Square mixed-use urban village. She has also contributed to hospitality projects such as the Westin Houston Memorial City and the Four Points by Sheraton in Galveston.
Her work has been recognized with the Starnet Award Grand Prize for innovative flooring design and has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Contract Magazine, and the New York Post. Marcy holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Cornell University and is a Registered Interior Designer in Texas. She is NCIDQ certified and a LEED Accredited Professional.
