
Miguel Hernandez is a seasoned skilled professional with over 30 years of experience in maintenance and capital improvements for public works clients. As Vice President and Principal in our Irvine office, Miguel brings enjoyment, a wealth of technical expertise and leadership to a wide range of municipal and private sector projects across Southern California.
Miguel’s extensive portfolio includes the design and management of complex roadway, utility, and site development projects. His capabilities span street/highway design, utility work, stormwater systems, grading, hydrology/hydraulics, and construction administration services. Known for his collaborative approach and ability to deliver under pressure, he excels at balancing technical delivery with practical solutions that meet client goals and community needs. His leadership is instrumental in delivering high-profile projects such as the Jamboree/Main Intersection Improvement Project, the Jeffrey/Portola Road Infrastructure Improvements, and our Pine Avenue Extension Project. Miguel’s work reflects a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and collaboration with local agencies and stakeholders. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a registered Professional Engineer and Licensed Land Surveyor in California, as well as a Qualified SWPPP Developer. Outside of his office environment he is an advocate for his profession and clients as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and American Public Works Association (APWA). He is a very involved husband and a father of three girls, two boys, and recently a father-in-law to the husband of his eldest daughter. He has learned to enjoy the simple things in life like short walks, a children’s soccer game, and holiday family gatherings.
