Nicholas L. Kohel, P.E., is Vice President in our Dallas office, advancing Huitt-Zollars’ Public Works practice across the Dallas/Fort Worth region. He partners with PW Principals to drive business development, support project delivery, and provide oversight for multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality civil infrastructure solutions and regional growth.
With more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering, municipal leadership, and capital project delivery, Nick has directed large-scale capital improvement programs and managed complex public works projects. His expertise includes strategic planning, contract management, budget development, and stakeholder engagement.
Nick has led teams in executing roadway and utility infrastructure projects, CMOM programs, and voter-approved bond initiatives. He has coordinated with elected officials, city management, and community partners to achieve successful outcomes.
A licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He has earned recognition from TSPE as Young Engineer of the Year and Engineer of the Year and served as President of ASCE Central Texas Branch and on TSPE’s Math Counts State Committee.
