Robert Bodenhamer, RA, LEED AP BD+C, is a seasoned architect with more than 36 years of experience specializing in federal, military, and Design‑Build project delivery. As Architect of Record, he provides leadership for overall project design, contract documentation, and team performance, bringing a collaborative, results‑driven approach to complex projects with demanding technical requirements.
Throughout his career, Robert has led a wide range of projects for NAVFAC Southwest and other public agencies, earning a reputation for reliability, accountability, and strong execution. His experience includes more than 28 NAVFAC Southwest projects completed in partnership with R.A. Burch Construction, multiple projects delivered with Sundt Construction for NAVFAC Southwest and the City of San Diego, and over three decades supporting NAVFAC Southwest through IDIQ contracts as Architectural Project Manager. His portfolio includes UC San Diego dormitory renovations, multi‑story Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, and critical infrastructure upgrades at the Navy Medical Center San Diego, including seismic, HVAC, and elevator improvements, as well as training and maintenance facilities designed to meet stringent ICD 705 physical and technical security standards. A LEED Accredited Professional, he integrates sustainable design principles throughout all phases of project delivery.
Prior to joining the firm, Robert held leadership roles at Conwell + Marshall and Associates and Vasquez Marshall Architects. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, including a year of international study in Copenhagen, Denmark.
