Robert J. McDermott, PE, is the President of Huitt-Zollars, Inc., with over 35 years of experience in structural engineering. He has led the design and management of landmark projects, including the DART Tunnel and City Place Station, and the Margaret McDermott and Margaret Hunt Hill Signature Bridges in Dallas. Robert’s expertise spans highway, transit, rail, heavy civil, and building projects.

Known for his professional integ rity, innovation, and effectiveness, Robert is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. His work has been published in Railway Track and Structures, and he has presented at national engineering conferences.
