Congratulations to Rancho Mission Viejo, County of Orange and the Project Team for being honored with the ASCE OC Chapter’s Outstanding Flood Management Project in the Flood Management category for the Rienda C-Complex Flood Basin.

This critical flood control facility provides 170 acre-feet of stormwater storage and peak flow mitigation for the 1,300-acre Rienda community. Designed to manage storm events exceeding the high-confidence 100-year storm, the basin features a 144-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), a 72-inch inlet, and a 12’x8’ reinforced concrete box (RCB) outlet, safely conveying up to 3,000 cfs of peak flow.

As one of five planned basins serving the San Juan Creek watershed, the C-Complex Flood Basin plays a vital role in the region’s long-term flood resilience strategy. This award highlights the power of forward-thinking design, technical excellence, and community-focused infrastructure.

We’re proud to have contributed to this impactful, award-winning project alongside a talented team of designers, engineers, and construction professionals.  Congratulations to all involved!
