Huitt-Zollars is pleased to announce the addition of Stephen Beacham as a Vice President in our Institutional practice in the National Capital Region office. In this role, Stephen will lead our Institutional design team in the Northeast, driving excellence in architectural and interior design across the higher education and healthcare market sectors.

Stephen has over three decades of experience in architecture, interior design, and team leadership. His career includes directing large-scale projects in healthcare, higher education, science and technology, hospitality, workplace, and aviation. He has managed multidisciplinary teams and delivered award-winning projects such as UPMC Mercy Hospital, LaGuardia Airport Terminal B, Accenture DC Headquarters, Sanofi Cambridge Crossing, Comcast, and the World Bank Group.

Stephen has opened and expanded offices for leading firms, including establishing and growing the Philadelphia office for a top ENR 500 design firm and developing the New Jersey office for a Top 10 global AE firm. Stephen is recognized for fostering creativity, mentoring emerging talent, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance communities. His leadership has resulted in numerous design awards, including Forbes Travel Guide Best Airport, AIA Honor Awards, UNESCO Prix Versailles, CoreNet, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, International Facility Management Association, and International Interior Design Association awards.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and is an active contributor to industry and community initiatives, including District of Colombia Building Industry Association community improvement projects and disaster relief efforts. Stephen has served as City Center Director for IIDA NJ and has been involved in rebuilding efforts following major natural disasters.
