Public Works Service Center

Huitt-Zollars prepared the program, space plan, preliminary engineering and final design for the City of Sugar Land’s Public Works Service Center with a construction of a new Administration Building and Warehouse facility and renovation of the existing public works and public utilities buildings.  Design elements included Public Works Departments’ Administration, Facilities Management, Traffic Engineering & Operations Center to include signal and sign shop, Fleet Maintenance, CNG Fuel and Wash operations, Streets & Drainage (open yard storage) and Animal Services. In addition, traffic circulation and parking (City and Public), security, drainage/storm water quality improvements; Low Impact and Sustainable design concepts are included in the design. The work includes developing a phased implementation plan along with individual cost estimates. The project site is approximately 13.5 acres. The new facilities will be sized to service a future City population of 150,000 residents.
