Huitt-Zollars’ provided architectural, landscape architecture, structural, civil and hydrology design, construction observation, evaluation, and consultation services to support the El Franco Lee Park Wetland Enhancements project. The 365-acre tract of land now includes a 1,100-foot boardwalk over the wetland, two observation towers to enhance wetland viewing in different environments, a butterfly garden and butterfly waystation, along with educational signs and accessories such as covered areas, benches, and pockets of areas with attractive native landscaping located along the trail. Huitt-Zollars’ support role contributed significantly to value-engineering and cost-savings for the project.
