Huitt-Zollars provided construction management and inspection services for the reconstruction of Shepherd Drive from Westheimer Road to West Dallas Street/Chilton Road, plus northbound and southbound frontage roads of Shepherd Drive from West Dallas Street/Chilton Road to Allen Parkway. The project included the removal of existing storm sewer mains and installation of new pipe (ranging from 24-84 inches in diameter) with new outfall structure and bank stabilization at historic Buffalo Bayou. Trenchless construction was a critical project component in order to protect the numerous oak trees that are the inspiration for the name of the area’s historic neighborhood, River Oaks.
